Abstract:

Two field experiments were carried out at Giza Agriculture Research Center (a clay soil) and the Ismailia Agriculture Research Station (a sand soil) during two seasons 2007 and 2008 to evaluate the effect of Biofertilizer (B. megatherium) , FYM (Farm Yard Manure) in the presence of mineral phosphatic fertilizer of rock phosphate (RP) or ordinary super phosphate (SP) on fresh weight , dry weight and nutrients uptake by maize plants. Biofertilization as well as FYM treatments in presence of chemical P fertilizers increased fresh weight , dry weight and nutrient uptake. The RP source surpassed SP particularly in the clay soil while the opposite occurred in the sand soil regarding macro nutrients uptake (N, P, K, Mn, Zn, and Cu). Biofertilizer + FYM gave the highest values of studied parameters.
