Computer ergonomic is the study of human capabilities in relationship to the specific work demands of the computer users. the aim of this study was to assess knowledge and practice about ergonomic requirements for computer users. This study was descriptive design conducted at three different settings; Benha university hospital, faculty of medicine and faculty of nursing of Benha university. All computer users who are working in the selected settings were included (56 subject). The tools of data collection were a constructed interviewing questionnaire sheet that designed to collect sociodemographic, job characteristics data and knowledge of computer users and observational check list to assess computer users' practice during their working. The results of the present study showed that the mean age of computer users was 32±8,4. the computer users with unsatisfactory knowledge and did adequate practice were 85,7% While those with unsatisfactory knowledge and did inadequate practice were 53,6%. The computer users with satisfactory knowledge and did inadequate practice were 46,4% while those with satisfactory knowledge and did adequate were14,3%. Their was highly statistical significant differences between computer users’ knowledge and practice. The study concluded that the majority of the computer users need to improve their knowledge and practice toward computer ergonomic requirements. The study recommended that the training courses about computer ergonomics should be conducted for computer users to raise their knowledge and practice, also computer users should be perform a periodical medical check up and take at least ten minutes break each work hour and perform simple exercise during working time.
