Abstract:

The main objective of this research is to reach a global and suitable framework of policies-through group of axes-for the diversification of the income resources in the Saudi income. The research includes four main parts, represented briefly in the following: The first part: the main and general features of the Saudi economy. The second part: the industrial sector: one of the most important economic sectors qualified for achieving the diversification of income resources in the Saudi economy. The third part: the latest economic developments which are relevant to the aim of improving the SAUDI economic structure. This part discusses the latest developments as follows: the privatization policy, the internal reconstruction program, joining to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and developing the circulation of foreign direct investment. Finally the fourth part deals with six axes necessary for achieving the main aim of the research. These axes are briefly represented in the following: The first axis: to continue the developing steps plan for the Saudi economy reconstruction program. The second axis: the continuous development of investment incentives, facilitating the authorization available for the private industrial activity. The third axis: activating and extending the research and development and trying to make a national technological base. The fourth axis: supporting the medium and small industrial activities. The fifth axis: the proficiency of directing the foreign investments in the Saudi economy. The sixth axis: serious participation in activating the mechanism of joint Gulf market and the major Arab free trade area.
