This study was designed to evaluate the relationship between serum lipid concentrations and hearing levels and the impact of dyslipidemia treatment on both variables in apparently healthy subjects. The study comprised 106 subjects (65 males and 41 females) aged 40-49 years. Baseline audiometric evaluation was performed and after fasting >12 hours, blood samples were collected for determination of serum total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoproteins (HDL) and triglycerides (TG).
