Abstract:

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of ultraviolet A (UVA) radiation used in crosslinking for treating Keratoconus and post Lasik ectasia effect on the crystalline lens. Subjects and Methods: 35 eyes were imaged by scheimflug imaging using allegretto oculyzer before and after crosslinking at 1,2,3,4 weeks and 3 months. Results: The mean lens density before crosslinking was 7.55± 0.97. At 1,2,3,4 weeks and 3 months the mean lens density was 7.4 ± 0.96, 7.38 ± 0.96, 7.37 ± 0.97, 7.39 ± 0.99, 7.41 ± 0.94 respectively. The changes were statistically not significant. Conclusions: - No lenticular changes were detected after crosslinking
