Article[14] " The Effect Of A Sound Wave On The Behavior OF A Monoatomic Gas Between Two Coaxial Circular Cylinders In The Unsteady State"
Summary: The effect of a sound wave and heat transfer on a gas behavior between two fixed coaxial cylinders is investigated. We solve the BGK model of the Boltzmann equation by the method of moments and obtain the mean temperature, mean density and heat flux of the gas. It is assumed that the gas is dense and is reflected from the surfaces of the cylinders with arbitrary reflection coefficient. We examine the system from the stand point of the irreversible thermodynamics by estimating the entropy, entropy production, thermodynamic forces and other thermodynamic relations. The change in the internal energy of the gas as a function of the sound velocity and axial distance is also studied.
