Abstract In this thesis, the researcher introduce some new bivariate distributions with estimation of their parameters using maximum likelihood method, The models introduced here are of Marshall and Olkin (1967) type, Bivariate Odd Generalized Exponential Linear Failure Rate Distribution, Bivariate Distribution With Modified Generalized Linear Failure Rate and Bivariate Modified Odd Generalized Exponential Linear Failure Rate Distribution. Its statistical properties for marginal and conditional joint functions, marginal moment generating functions, joint moment generating functions, joint reliability functions, joint hazard functions, and joint reversed hazard functions are studied. Maximum likelihood estimates of the new bivariate distributions parameters are derived and obtained using numerical technique through a Mathcad package. Four data sets (empirical study) are analyzed to examine the model. A simulation study have been conducted.
Keywords Joint probability; density function; Conditional probability density function Maximum likelihood; estimators Fisher information matrix.
