Abstract— the ongoing events and risks surrounding cities,
whether natural, such as earthquakes, floods or unnatural ones
(poverty, unemployment and lack of resources, etc.) have led to
the need to examine and resilience of cities to resist such
pressures and risks. This research presents the theoretical study
of urban resilience and its characteristics and the concept of the
resilient city in addition to studying the framework of the city's
resilience and its goals and indicators. An analytical study is also
undertaken in form of a comparative analysis of three city
examples that face similar risks to that of Egypt. Finally, a
summary is to have a methodology that is formulated to solve the
problems and ways of dealing with them, especially economic and
social development (the socio- economic aspects of resilience) in
an analytical framework. Through which recommendations are
targeting the most important urban elements of the city's poor
areas, which can be given to develop and advance them. |
