Abstract:

This study was made in order to determine the prevalence of microalbuminuria and renal insufficiency in chronic hepatitis C virus infection in relation to age. For 110 HCV patient tested for microalbuminuria, serum creatinine, complete liver functions, ant-HCV, HCV PCR, abdominal Ultrasound,liver biopsy in selected patients. Microalbuminuria and renal insufficiency were evaluated several times at least two times over two- to three-month. Results showed that Prevalence of microalbuminuria in patients with hepatitis C infection was 17.2% and it was significantly higher than in controls (2.7%) (P
