Abstract:

This study included 35 typhoid patients diagnosed by isolation of S.typhi from the patient samples) blood- stool, urine) and the results were confirmed by biochemical and serological reactions. The isolated strains were subjected to molecular finger printing using IS 200. the results show the DNA of the isolated strains have high m/w with at least 8 iso200 distributed on the gene, also agarose gel contain 14 bands, the fifth one was the most prevalent 20% ,and iso 200 contain 4 patterns , pattern 1 was the most prevalent (46.4%) followed by patterns 3 and4 (10%) respectively. conclusion : there is a limited similarities between the isolated salmonella strains which means there are many different sources of salmonella infection due to fecal pollution and lack of general hygiene.
