telomeraseactivity in bothtype i andtype2diabeticpatientswithmicroangiopathyandmacroangiopathy, B)to
studythepossiblefactorsthataffecttheactivityofthisenzymeinthesepatients.SubjectsandMethods:Studywas
carriedouton40patientsfromthoseattendingdiabetesclinicsofBanhaUniversityHospital,theyweredividedinto
three groups:GroupI: 10type I diabeticpatientswithangiopathy(4males&6females).GroupII: l0type 2
diabetic patients withangiopathy(3males&7females). GroupIII: 20apparentlyhealthyage&sexmatched
volunteers serving as a control group.Thefollowing laboratory investigations wereperformed to all patients:
Plasmaglucose(fastingandpostprandial),Glycatedhemoglobin,Lipogram(Total cholesterol,LDLc,I-[DLcand
Triglycerides),Serumcreatinine,UrinarymicroalbuminandStudyoftelomeraseactivityinwholeblood.Results:

(>30mg/ml) respectively compared to diabetic patients with I-IbAlC ( |
