Abstract: |
Serum total sialic acid, serum cholesterol and plasma fibrinogen were assayed in fifteen patients (10 males and 5 females) who had a myocardial infarction. Their ages ranged 45- 58, with a mean age of 52 ± 3.5 years. Another fifteen normal individuals (9 males and 6 females) were used as a control group. Their ages ranged 41 - 57 , with a mean value of 47 ± 4.5 years. The mean serum sialic acid in acute myocardial infarction group was significantly higher (P |
