Abstract:

Digital technology has a great impact on the boom that occurred in fields of science and culture. This technology has great potentialities at the level of study and practice, with its quick solutions to different problems, and its impressive variety of display methods and presentation techniques, in addition to its great ability to disseminate information widely, at a little time and with attractive ways. Architectural heritage is one of these areas that strongly affected by the digital revolution, because digital technology has explored broader horizons and provided greater abilities to the field of heritage, at its cultural, emotional, economic and functional levels. So this research tries to study the impact of digital technologies on the development of architectural heritage field, especially at the level of documentation, analysis, maintenance, restoration, heritage presentation, and cultural and educational issues, In order to identify the advantages and disadvantages of these applications, for use later in formulation of standards and regulations for this field.
