The current research aims at designing a recommended training program using hypoxic exercises for improving some physical and physiological abilities and identifying the effects of physical and physiological abilities under investigation on the digital level of junior 50m freestyle swimmers, in addition to identifying the correlations between theses physical and physiological abilities and the digital level of junior 50m freestyle swimmers.
The researcher used the quasi-experimental approach (one-group design) with pre-, intermediate and post-measurements. Subjects include (22) short distance junior swimmers (born in 2000). (7) of these swimmers were used as a pilot sample and another (3) were disqualifies for non-punctuality. The final number of subjects was (12).
The researcher concluded the following:
Physical effort leads to increasing the ventilation capacity and the vital capacity as indicators for the efficiency of the cardio-pulmonary system.
There are no statistically significant differences between the test-beginning and exhaustion periods in heart rate
Sports training improve V2max, breathing rate, lung ventilation and the efficiency of organs that get and deliver blood to the body.
Good levels of VO2max, heart rate and vital capacity indicate the delay of exhaustion and improvement of performance levels.
There is a statistically significant correlation between 4X50m freestyle /10 sec, duration of breath holding, heart rate, VO2max, breathing rate and duration of 50m freestyle as these values were (0.814, -0.717, 0.770, 0.839, 0.905) respectively.
