The effect of achievement motivation on the youth’s performance and productivity in the small projects and industries, and the role of this in achieving the economic and social development for the family
This research aims at tackling the effect
Of achievement motivation on the youth’s performance and productivity in small projects and industries, and the role of this in achieving the family economic and social development.
The main sample consisted of (300). (150 males – 150 females) youth who own small projects, ages between (21-35) and they were from different social - economic levels.
Study tools
1- Participant’s general information application prepared by researcher.
2- Scale of family’s socio-economic status, modified by Abdul-Aziz el-Shakhs (1995)
3- Scale of youth’s achievement motivation in small projects, prepared by the researcher.
4- Scale of youth’s performance and productivity in small projects, prepared by the researcher.
5- Questionnaire of family’s economic development, prepared by the researcher.
6- Questionnaire of family’s social development, prepared by the researcher.
Study finding:
The findings showed that:
1- There were statistically significant differences between the means of males and females in achievement motivation favors of the males, except for creativity and flexibility, which were in favor of the latter.
2- There were statistically significant differences between the means of males and females in performance and Productivity, in favor of the former.
3- There was a positive correlation between youth’s achievement motivation and their performance and productivity, in small projects and industries.
4- There was a positive correlation between youth’s achievement motivation and some variables of family’s socio-economic status.
5- There was a positive correlation between youth’s performance and productivity and some variables of family’s socio-economic status.
6- There was a positive correlation between youth’s performance and productivity and family’s social and economic development.
7- There was a positive correlation between youth’s achievement motivation and family’s social and economic development.
Summary
The effect of achievement motivation on the youth’s performance and productivity in the small projects and industries, and the role of this in achieving the economic and social development for the family
Youth’s is a very critical and significant period in human life because it determines the path, objectives and expectations. Youth’s in this period need independence through asserting themselves through the vocational stability and foundation of strong family relations, which support a happy life.
Small projects and industries are one of the government’s efforts to encourage youth for active participation and raising their standard of living and achieving their families social and economic development.
Achievement motivation plays an important role in raising the individual’s standard of living and productivity in different and various fields and activities. It also helps him to face the challenges and difficulties, which confront him in his work. Thus, youth’s achievement motivation, performance and productivity in the field of small of projects and industries are two important factors to achieve the social and economic development of individuals and families.
Literature revealed that the achievement motivation weakness don’t help individuals to use their energy. The research problem aims at answering the following questions:
- Do youth’s performance and productivity in small projects have a role in achieving the family’s economic and social development?
- What is the effect of socio-economic status on youth’s achievement motivation and youth’s performance and productivity in small projects?
- What is the effect of achievement motivation on youth’s performance and productivity in small projects and industries?
- What is the effect of socio-economic status on youth’s performance and productivity in small projects?
Study objectives:
1- Determine the differences between males and females in achievement motivation in the field of small projects and industries.
2- Defining the differences between males and females in performance and productivity in the field of small projects and industries.
3- Examining the relationships between the study variables and youth’s achievement motivation.
The pilot sample consisted of 50 male and female youth who run small projects and industries. The main sample consisted of (300). (150 males – 150 females) youth who own small projects, ages between (21-35) and they were from different social - economic levels.
This research was an analytical descriptive one.
