Abstract:

: The study was aimed to assess the effectiveness of Intervention program for caregivers of children with Attention Deficit hyperactive Disorder at Benha City. Design: A quasi experimental design was used. Settings: This study was conducting at psychiatric outpatient clinic of Benha University hospital and pediatric outpatient clinic of mental health hospital, where the cases were diagnosed and followed up. Sample: Study sample involved all registered cases in the previous mentioned settings, the total number were 168 cases but 12 of them were dropped because their refusal to share and the rest of them were (156 cases). Tools: two Tools were used for data collection. I- Interviewing questionnaire sheet: It was developed by the researchers after reviewing related literatures. It was written in Arabic language and composed of closed ended questions to assess the following: Part І: General characteristics of the caregivers, Part ІІ: General characteristics of the child and Part ІІІ: questionnaire sheet was constructed to assess caregivers’ knowledge about ADHD before and after implementation of the program. Tool II - Elcamino Pediatrics home version scale (2003) to assess child's behavior (inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity) Results: the current study revealed that, more than half of children (59.4%) was age between 6-0.05).
