Photoacoustic (PA )technique has been applied to studythe optical and thermal properties
of the alloyed CdTexS1x (nanocrystals (NCs)withdifferent(Te/(SþTe) )molarratio(x¼0,
0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8and1).Increasing x value causesc learlyobservedredshiftofthe
correspondingexcitonpeakinPAspectra.Thesamespectrawerecomparedtothose
obtainedbyaregularUV–Vis. absorption.Theeffectivemassapproximation(EMA)model
wasappliedtodeterminethesizeoftheNCs.ThecalculatedsizesofthealloyedNCsarein
a goodagreementwiththedirectlymeasuredvaluesobtainedusinghighresolution
transmission electronmicroscopy(HRTEM).Thevaluesofthermaldiffusivityandthermal
conductivityobtainedusingPAtechniqueshowatleastanorderofmagnitudelargerthan
that ofthebulkvalues |
