Two field experiments were carried out during the twasuccessive seasons of 1992 and 1993 at the Agricultural Research and
Experimental center Farm of Faculty of Agriculture Moshtohor, Kalyoubia
Governorate Egypt. The objective of this study was to-investigate the effect of
foliar application of ء K and N ± K fertilizers and skipping 3rd, 4j 5يli and
6 irrigation on yield, yield components, protein, oil and potassium content in
seeds of soybean (“Glycine (L.) Merr.) cv. Clark. :
The results revealed that skipping irrigation at dift’erent times had
sign ijicant effects on plant height, number of pods, weight of pods/plant, weight
of seeds/plant, 100-seed weight, seei vield/feddan, protein content, and protein as
well as, oi/yieids/feddai:.in both seasons. The highest values of these characters
were obtained by the control treatrneizt (‘normal irrigatioرi. whereas skipping the
fourth or fifth or sixth irrigation gave the lowest values. On the othe,’ hand, no
sign ؟fI cant differences between skipping the third irrigation and ilorinal
irrigation. The ioivest values of p/alit height was obtained by Skipping third or
fourth or fifth irrigation in both seasoiis. : :
Plant height, number ofpods/p/ant, weight of pods aiid sect ls,/ant, IOU-
seed ‘u’eight, seed y,eldlfeddan, protein yield and potassi ،ini content in seeds of
soybean were sign iji candy increased by foliar application of 1% N ànd 0.9% k20
in 1992- and 1993 seasons ompared to the ontroi treatment (‚‘u,itreateq’). On the
other hand, iىiimber of branches/plant, protein percentage and oil perecent age
were not sign ijىcantly different due to the treatments offoliar application.
Skipping third irrigation with foliar application of potassium or urea and
potassium gave the highest seed yieid/feddan, protein and oil yields/feddan,
whereas skipping fifth or sixth irrigation with check treatment gave the lowest
valjies. |
