Abstract:

Preeclampsia is a multisystem disorder that complicates 2%–5% of pregnancies and constitutes a major source of morbidity and mortality worldwide Women with PE are at an increased risk for life-threatening obstetric or medical complications. Worldwide, ten to fifteen percent of direct maternal deaths are associated with PE. For the fetus, PE can lead to intrauterine growth restriction and oligohydramnios, as well as medically or obstetrically indicated preterm birth. As a result, perinatal morbidity and mortality are increased this study was done to evulate the role of pregnancy associated plasma protein A and uterine artery Doppler in early detection of preeclampsia. subjects and methods ;Subjects of this prospective cohort study included (120) pregnant women with viable singleton pregnancies in the first trimester between (11- 13+6 ) weeks of gestation, were recruited during the period from March 2018 to January 2020 and who came for ante natal clinic, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, at Banha University Hospital results :In the present study, one hundred twenty women were recruited, seventeen were excluded from the analysis for the following reasons, six cases aborted, two cases developed preterm labor, ,one of them had premature rupture of membrane and eight cases were lost before ending the follow up and one case developed gestational hypertension and don’t meet the criteria for this study .
