Abstract:

These paper introduces a reservation subframe protocol for multimedia services in a 3rd generation mobile telecommunication system. The Packet Reservation Multiple Access (PRMA) protocol is modified to achieve more efficient bandwidth management. Simulation results show that the resulting multiple access multimedia system can serve a large number of users with low probability of packet loss, enabling the use of high compression rates for both voice and video services.
