ABSTRACT
11-years-old "Le Conte" pear trees were sprayed in mid- June and at full bloom of the following year with Paclobu- trazol (PP333) or Cycocel (CCC), each at 1000 and 2000 ppm. Mid-June sprays reduced growth parameters of the following year. However, full bloom sprays (particularly, 2000 ppm PP333) caused the highest reduction in growth parameters. PP333 and CCC sprayed in mid-June or at full bloom had no effect on leaf nutrient content (N, P, K, Ca and Mg). More¬over, mid-June sprays with PP333 or CCC (particularly, 2000 ppm PP333) enhanced tree flowering of the following year than full bloom sprays.
