Egypt. J. Appl. Sci., 5(2) 1990 130-137 SEX EXPRESSION OF PAPAYA PUNTS IN RELATION TO SOME LEAF CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS BY Helail, B.M. and Atawia, A.A.R. Dept. of Hort., Fac. of Agric*, Moshtohor, Zagazig Univ. ABSTRACT In 1988 & 1989 samples of leaf blades and petioles from male (M) and female (F) "Solo" papaya plants were subjected to chemical analyses. Leaf petioles of M. and F. I plants obviously differed concerning ash and silicon contents• : Mm plants were higher in ash and lower in silicon than F. ; ones. However, no clear differences in chlorophyll a and b, carotenoids, total soluble solids, acidity and dry matter ; could be detected between M. and F. plants. |
