Abstract:

Navier-Stokes equations are used in a numerical analysis to predict the development of a two-dimensional laminar incompressible boundary layer subjected to longitudinal pressure gradients and normal suction and blowing. Finite quadrangular elements supply the framework of the model, which is compared to similarity solutions. The method can be modified to take into consideration the effects of wall curvature.
