Abstract:

The main objective of this research was to study the behaviour of cam beams reinforced by waste steel sheets. These sheets were produced du industrial processes. Experimental tests had been carried out for a set of fo five beams. The main variables were the number of reinforcement sheets percentage of tension reinforcement), the web reinforcement and cornpres; reinforcement by using the steel sheets in vertical position, and the shear spa depth ratio. Concrete beams reinforced by longitudinal steel bars were also co: and tested for comparison. Some beams were reinforced using both steel shi and longitudinal steel bars. The test results included ultimate load, mod' failure, deflection and crack pattern. Good agreement was found for the behavi of both concrete beams reinforced by internal steel sheets and those reinforced steel bars for the same percentage of steel.
