Abstract:

This paper describes the performance of a stand-alone self-excited induction generator (SEIG) when driven by a matched variable-speed wind turbine . The behavior of the system is fully investigated for different loads of the generator by employing the power curve of the wind-turbine-SEIG system . The results were obtained when the capacitance required ensuring self-excitation for certain operating speed and parameters is used.
