Strategic flexibility is an instrument that helps in promoting strategic thinking, providing strategic options, and has a favorable impact on the abilities and professionalism of nursing staff. The aim of this study was to assess the relation between strategic flexibility and professionalism among nursing staff. Research design: A descriptive, correlational design was utilized in this study. Setting: This study was conducted in all medical-surgical departments, operating rooms and critical care units at Benha University Hospital. The sample: the nursing staff (n=355) consisted of two groups namely; head nurses group (n=60) and staff nurses group (n=295) and available at the time of study. Tools: two tools were used; Strategic flexibility questionnaire and Nurse Professionalism scale. Results: (75.0%) of head nurses and (56.3%) of staff nurses had a high level of strategic flexibility and (81.7%) of head nurses and (53.9%) of staff nurses had a high level of professionalism.
