The efficacy of behavioral remedial program for problematic children with stuttering was reviewed. A group of twenty children diagnosed with psychological problematic and stuttering were recruited to receive a program that aimed to reduce their level of stuttering. The study expanded upon the anxiety and shyness accompanied stuttering. Modeling, role playing, shaping, reinforcement, generalization and other more procedures were included for alleviating the acuity of stuttering among school- age children (8-12) of the sample. Intensive behavioral training sessions (24) contained films, videos, CD recorders, sweets, foods, gifts, relaxation and rewards. A great attention of social, emotional, and behavioral necessities were present to participants. Findings showed statistically significant differences between the two groups in improving the level of stuttering of the experimental individuals. Statistically significant differences were showed greatly in experimental participants in both variables (shame and anxiety) with less expressions and manifestations that assessed the efficacy of the remedial program in improving stuttering and alleviating psychological problems which add to the outcomes of receiving the intensive program for reducing stuttering and problematic behavioral decreasing. |
