Minister of Higher Education Witnesses Signing of Joint Cooperation Protocol between Benha University, Kalyobiya Governorate, and Al-Nas Hospital

• Triple cooperation to establish an academic building for teaching programs in medicine and nursing

Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, witnessed the signing of a joint cooperation protocol between Benha University, Kalyobiya Governorate, and Al-Joud Charity Foundation "Al-Nas Hospital." The protocol was signed by Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Kalyobiya, Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, and Engineer Ayman Abbas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Nas Hospital.
The protocol aims to establish an academic building to offer programs in medicine and nursing and grant their degrees, on a plot of land owned by Kalyobiya Governorate adjacent to Al-Nas Hospital.
It also stipulates enhancing joint cooperation among the participating parties to exchange scientific expertise through meetings and workshops.
Prof. Ayman Ashour emphasized the Ministry of Higher Education's commitment to participating through Egyptian universities, which serve as centers of expertise in supporting projects aimed at improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
He highlighted the role of educational and research institutions in Egypt, which possess academic expertise, human resources, and material capabilities that contribute to supporting various developmental fields.
He underlined the importance of "integration" as one of the key principles of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research.
The minister pointed out the academic role of Benha University within the higher education system as one of the prestigious public universities, aligning its academic programs with labor market demands and future job opportunities, especially in the medical sector.
He noted the outstanding results the university has achieved in recent international rankings.
The minister also mentioned that the location of the building in Kalyobiya Governorate has a distinguished geographical position that will enhance the educational role of the project and enable it to offer a distinguished academic program that supports the scientific and professional capabilities of graduates from the medical sector, in addition to providing qualified medical staff to enhance the services of Al-Nas Hospital.
Prof. Ayman Ashour acknowledged the role of Al-Joud Charity Foundation "Al-Nas Hospital" in providing high-quality medical services to those in greatest need, especially children, and its commitment to delivering world-class medical service. He stressed the importance of achieving international partnership for the project to ensure compliance with global standards and to focus on research and training aspects.
Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Kalyobiya, expressed the governorate's strong support for contributing to this project through the land, noting its significance as an addition to the medical system in the governorate and its impact on improving medical services for citizens.
He assured that the governorate would provide the necessary support and facilities to ensure the sustainability and success of the project in achieving the desired medical and educational quality for the benefit of the citizens and others who utilize the hospital's services.
He thanked Prof. Ayman Ashour for his support in signing the protocol, which he believes will be an addition to the governorate and its people, highlighting that Al-Nas Hospital is a proud establishment for the people of Kalyobiya.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, expressed the university's pride in signing this protocol, which opens new horizons for students in the medical sector to gain more academic and practical experience.
He noted that Benha University ranks fifth locally in clinical medical sciences and health sciences and is ranked (801-1000) globally according to the Times Higher Education rankings by scientific disciplines.
It is also ranked fifth locally in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences and (301-400) globally according to the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities for 2024.
He highlighted the university's excellence in the distinguished medical program offered by the Faculty of Medicine and the specialized nursing program, as well as the intensive program in the Faculty of Nursing based on credit hours.
Engineer Ayman Abbas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Nas Hospital, stated that the hospital is one of the largest distinguished medical centers in the Arab region and Africa, with a capacity of approximately 600 beds. It has been providing free services to all patients since it began operations in 2019, particularly in pediatric cardiology.
He emphasized the hospital's focus on developing the skills of its medical staff to meet global standards and provide the best medical services to patients while supporting research efforts, along with the foundation's commitment to making the hospital project a beacon of hope in the area.
The signing was attended by Engineer Hatem Hassan Al-Malla, Executive Director of Al-Nas Hospital, and Engineer Hatem Suleiman, Executive Director of the Intro Group.
