Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, the university president, announced that the Times Higher Education ranking for higher education institutions has released its new results for 2025. Benha University has ranked between 1001 and 1200 globally among more than 2000 universities from 115 countries classified in this edition, out of over 30,000 universities worldwide. Locally, it secured the fourth category alongside 14 other universities among the 47 Egyptian universities included in this ranking.
El-Gizawy pointed out that the Times Higher Education ranking has made changes in the methodology for calculating the Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) in 2023, dividing it into three sub-metric bibliometric measures designed to better represent the quality of scientific research outputs, along with several other changes in the ranking methodology.
He explained that the ranking is based on thirteen indicators to measure university performance, evaluating institutions across five areas: teaching, research, citations, international reputation, and industry income. The university president congratulated the university community, including faculty, staff, and students, on this achievement and its role in gaining the trust of the community and stakeholders, as well as improving the university's institutional and academic reputation with employers.
