This event is part of Mr. President's initiative for human development, titled "A New Beginning for Building the Human."
The event was attended by Prof. Nermeen Adly, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Amr El-Dakhakhni, Executive Director of Benha University Hospitals, Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, along with several professors from the university hospitals and the Faculty of Medicine.
The seminar included a brief overview of Benha University's participation in all presidential initiatives that support comprehensive healthcare for Egyptian women, including the presidential initiative for women's health and early detection of breast cancer.
Additionally, the seminar featured a video presentation and several lectures on the importance of early detection of breast cancer, methods of detection, symptoms of the disease, self-examination techniques, risk factors, the difference between benign and malignant tumors, as well as free prevention and treatment options.
It is noteworthy that the presidential initiative for women's health and early detection of breast cancer began in July 2019, targeting women over the age of 18 by providing breast examination services and screening for non-communicable diseases (measuring blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, and height).
This is conducted in an atmosphere of confidentiality and privacy, starting with a questionnaire consisting of 28 questions covering social and health data, followed by an awareness session on the importance of early detection and regular check-ups, teaching women how to perform self-examinations every month to monitor their breast health.
