In the Framework of Enhancing Joint Cooperation: Benha University Hosts Delegation from China Agricultural University

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, received a delegation from China Agricultural University, located in Wuhan, led by Professor Sheng Bing, Vice President of the university. This visit is part of efforts to enhance cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Jihan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Amani Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Prof. Hazem Aliwa, Academic Director of the university's campus in Al-Obour City and Executive Director of the International Relations Office.
The delegation from China Agricultural University included the Dean of the Faculty of Horticulture and Forestry, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Animal Production and Veterinary Medicine, along with several leaders and staff from the International Relations Office.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized that the visit aims to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Benha University and China Agricultural University, especially given the deep friendship between the two institutions, which has spanned nearly ten years since the signing of the first memorandum of understanding in May 2015. They also discussed a plan to develop bilateral relations in the near future in education and scientific research.
The President of Benha University reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities, which has extended to student activities, noting that there have been five short visits by student delegations from both sides, which had a significant impact on educational and cultural exchange among students. He pointed out that Benha University has allowed delegations from the Chinese university to visit national projects such as the New Suez Canal and the High Dam. The university also provided lectures on ancient Egyptian history and organized visits to the Egyptian Museum.
El-Gizawy added that the COVID-19 pandemic did not hinder the cooperation between the two universities or the continuation of student activities, as a virtual music concert was organized in 2021 at the university's campus in Al-Obour City, attended by representatives from the Chinese embassy in Cairo, who praised the initiative and stated that music is the shortest way to cultural communication between peoples.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy commended China Agricultural University for establishing an alumni association that includes about 100 faculty members and researchers from most Egyptian universities and research centers.
For his part, the Vice President of China Agricultural University thanked Benha University for providing distinguished researchers with high levels of knowledge and skill over the past ten years, during which many achievements were made on various scientific fronts.
Young researchers from Benha University received more than 40 scholarships for masters and Ph.D. degrees, as well as grants for post-doctoral research.
Professor Sheng Bing added that three joint research projects were funded between the two sides, resulting in the publication of a significant number of research papers in prestigious international journals, in addition to organizing four international conferences and forums in cooperation between the two universities.
