"El-Gizawy ": Emphasizes the role of Humanities Sciences in shaping human personality "Jihan": The conference is an important platform for exchanging ideas and developing research Prof. Nasser Al-Gizawy, President of Benha University, inaugurated the activities of the third annual conference for Postgraduate students in Humanities Sciences, organized by the university from October 23rd to 24th.
Prof. Reda Higazi, President of Al-Ryada University for Science and Technology and former Minister of Education, gave a lecture on "The Future of Postgraduate Studies in Humanities Sciences." Prof. Adel Al-Hadithi, Secretary-General of the Arab Engineers Union, presented a lecture on "Humanities Sciences, Social Engineering, and Technological Development." Mr. Islam Afifi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation, delivered a lecture on "Artificial Intelligence: Benefits and Legitimate Concerns."
The event was attended by Prof. El-Sayed Foda, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Jihan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, deans and vice-deans of faculties, the university's Secretary-General, and the Assistant Secretary for Administrative Affairs.
In his speech, Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy stated that the conference activities are part of the university's initiatives within the framework of Mr. President's initiative for human development, "A New Beginning for Human Development."
He pointed out that Humanities Sciences are the cornerstone for understanding humans and the world around them through the study of history, philosophy, literature, sociology, and other sciences.
This allows us to analyze the factors that shaped our societies, understand different cultures, and promote values of tolerance and understanding.
El-Gizawy emphasized that despite modern technology, Humanities Sciences will remain the compass that guides us in using this technology responsibly and ethically. He affirmed that without a deep understanding of human values, technology can become a dangerous tool instead of a means for advancement.
The President added that Humanities Sciences also play a pivotal role in shaping human personality by enhancing a deep understanding of oneself and others, helping individuals develop their personal vision and life goals, and becoming more interactive and positive with others, solving problems in innovative and sustainable ways.
Prof. Jihan Abdel-Hadi stated that the third annual conference for Postgraduate studies in Humanities Sciences is an important platform for exchanging ideas and developing research, enhancing scientific communication among academics, students, and researchers.
She noted that organizing this conference annually represents an important step towards achieving Benha University's vision in supporting academic, professional, and scientific research in the fields of Humanities Sciences, which form a fundamental pillar for understanding and developing societies.
Jihan added that Humanities Sciences play a crucial role in understanding cultural heritage, analyzing social changes, and providing new insights into contemporary challenges. She pointed out that encouraging research in this field is a collective responsibility that rests on all of us to contribute to building a more aware and prosperous society.
The Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research emphasized that the technological and societal developments we witness today impose new ways of thinking and analyzing issues from multiple perspectives. She affirmed that the conference is a unique opportunity to listen to new ideas and engage in fruitful discussions that undoubtedly contribute to knowledge development and stimulate innovation in various fields.
Prof. Iman Abdel-Haq, former Dean of the Faculty of Education and Conference Rapporteur, added that the conference discusses 117 participating research papers through 11 scientific sessions covering all conference axes, including commercial and economic sciences, legal sciences, educational, psychological, and social sciences, literary and linguistic studies, and the role of technology in developing Humanities Sciences and information sciences, in addition to the axis of sciences for people with disabilities, the axis of sports education sciences, and the axis of applications of artificial intelligence in Humanities Sciences.
