Benha University organized awareness caravans at the Youth Center in Shebin El-Kom as part of the President's initiative for human development, "A New Beginning for Humans Development" in collaboration with the Kalyobiya Youth and Sports Directorate.
This initiative was under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, and Prof. El Sayed Fouda, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, with coordination and organization by Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, in collaboration with Prof. Walid El-Farmawy, Director of the Kalyobiya Youth and Sports Directorate.
The Faculty of Science, under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Heikal, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Prof. Nahid El-Barqi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, organized a seminar on "Insects: Benefits and Harms and Their Role in Environmental Balance.
" The seminar aimed to educate students about insects and their position within the animal kingdom, highlighting the importance of certain economic insects and the benefits they provide to humans, both directly and indirectly, as well as their role in the food chain and environmental balance, along with some real-life examples.
It also addressed some of the harms caused by insects and how to mitigate these harms without affecting the environment and sustainable development, in line with Egypt's developmental plans and Vision 2030.
This event featured participation from several faculty members, including Hisham Mohamed Abdelhalim, Manar Hamad Zidan, and Esraa Mansour Yassin.
