Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, inaugurated the 40th Psychology Conference in Egypt and the 32nd Arab Conference, organized by the Faculty of Education in collaboration with the Egyptian Society for Psychological Studies.
The event was attended by Prof. Jihan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Magdy El-Shahat, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and several professors from the faculties of education at Egyptian and Arab universities.
During the conference, Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized the important role of universities and the academic community in adopting innovations and modern trends in educational psychology. He noted that the exchange of knowledge and experiences among researchers and faculty members can significantly contribute to developing more effective and flexible educational curricula that meet students' needs in the era of digital transformation. Moreover, enhancing collaboration between universities and other educational institutions helps build bridges of understanding and cooperation, thereby improving the quality of education and learning at local, regional, and international levels.
Prof. El-Gizawy added that educational psychology enhances students' motivation and understanding of individual differences, which contributes to providing specialized education that meets each student's needs through understanding the psychological aspects of learning. It also enables teachers to improve their interactions with students, foster a supportive and motivating learning environment, and design intervention programs to assist students with learning difficulties or special needs, ensuring inclusive and comprehensive education for all.
The university president pointed out that educational psychology has become more important than ever in improving education and developing future generations. Understanding the learning process and students' psychological and social needs forms the foundation for building a better future. He emphasized that through the applications of educational psychology; we can enhance the quality of education and empower students to face challenges.
Prof. Jihan Abdel-Hadi stated that the conference serves as a fruitful platform for exchanging ideas, dialogue, and collaboration among scholars in Arab countries. She added that it facilitates further communication among various researchers, affirming that psychology allows us to understand ourselves, analyze our behaviors, enhance our mental and psychological health, and address psychological disorders that require sound solutions, leading to personal happiness and contributing to improving our overall quality of life.
For his part, Prof. Magdy El-Shahat, Dean of the Faculty of Education, mentioned that the 40th annual psychology conference aims to highlight the importance of scientific research in serving the community and developing the environment, encouraging researchers, and guiding them toward scientific inquiry. It also aims to prepare programs to discover talents, support student researchers and innovators, develop research skills for undergraduate students, and establish research grant programs and capacity-building grants, along with awards offered by Egypt to some countries, especially African and Arab countries.
Prof. Ahmed Ashour, the college's deputy and conference rapporteur, noted that the conference includes several areas of scientific research, working papers, workshops, and discussions on various topics, including educational psychology, mental health, and special education.
