Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University, held a meeting with the Executive Council for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The meeting was attended by Prof. El-Sayed Fouda, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and council members.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy stated that the council discussed several reports submitted by the directors of centers and units aimed at enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship at Benha University. He pointed out that the council approved the launch of an initiative from the lab to the market to invest in the outputs of scientific research for the intellectual production of faculty members and researchers at the university.
Additionally, the Young Researcher Initiative was launched to develop scientific research skills among undergraduate students, and the electronic portal developers were tasked with creating an electronic application for submitting patent examination forms and filling them out electronically.
The council also approved the incubation of five startups through the Benha University Biotechnology Incubator, funded by the Launch Program at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the university's Research Fund, raising the number of startups incubated to eight.
Prof. El-Gizawy emphasized the need to translate entrepreneurship and innovation activities into prototypes and products that support the "Bidaya" Company for marketing the services of Benha University, which is currently being established.
It is worth noting that the Innovation Council aims to promote a culture of innovation, support innovative startups, enhance education and training, encourage research and development, build partnerships, and promote sustainability.
It also aims to provide support for successful projects, review and develop policies and strategies related to innovation and entrepreneurship.
the council aims to collaborate with governmental and private entities supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, increase the number of patents and startups at the university, improve the outputs of education and scientific research, and enhance the university's participation in the economic and social development of the community.
