Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that the Times Higher Education (THE) has released a new ranking for interdisciplinary fields for 2025, in collaboration with the Schmidt Science Fellows, which includes 749 universities from 92 countries.
Prof. El-Gizawy explained that the Times Higher Education interdisciplinary ranking assesses universities' contributions to interdisciplinary sciences and includes 11 performance indicators across three main areas of research projects:
• Inputs (19%): Referring to funding.
• Process (16%): Referring to success metrics, facilities, administrative support, and promotion.
• Outputs (65%): Referring to publications, research quality, and reputation.
Prof. Jehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, noted that Benha University has been ranked among the best universities in the world in the Times Higher Education interdisciplinary ranking, placing in the range of 251-300 globally, and achieving the ninth position locally among 30 public, private, and national universities.
The President congratulated the academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, and young researchers at the University for this Achievement, affirming that the university continually strives to improve its research outputs and build the scientific and research capabilities of its young researchers.
the Times Higher Education interdisciplinary ranking relies on data collected directly from universities and institutions using the THE data collection system, in addition to data from over 30,000 active peer-reviewed journals indexed by Elsevier's Scopus database.
