Collaboration between Benha University and Amideast to Support Students with Disabilities

Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding:
• A memorandum of understanding was signed between Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, and Amideast.
Objective: To establish a specialized center to serve students with disabilities at the university.
Attendees included Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Objectives of the Center:
• Develop the skills of students with disabilities.
• Integrate them into society through training courses.
• Train them to utilize modern technological means to overcome disabilities.
• Train center staff on the latest methods for interacting with and managing students with disabilities.
University Support:
• Full support will be provided to ensure the center is sustainable.
• Align with the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and the University for Full Integration.
Scholarship Program:
• The project is part of the scholarship program for public universities managed by Amideast.
• Aims to provide an inclusive and suitable university environment for all students.
University Efforts:
• Benha University is committed to integrating students with disabilities into society.
• Providing support and care while safeguarding their rights.
• Establishing the Mostafa Sadiq Al-Rafi'i Center to support students with disabilities.
Importance of the Center:
• Offers support in academic, social, and psychological aspects.
• Empowers students to live independently and enjoy university life.
Participation of the University President:
• The signing of the agreement took place during the Luxor Forum to support students with disabilities.
• Attendance included several university presidents and representatives from the U.S. Agency for International Development.
