Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that the university ranked 32nd among Arab universities according to the Arab University Ranking for 2024.
This ranking is a result of the collaborative efforts of the Arab Universities Union in cooperation with the Arab League, the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO), and the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils. A total of 180 universities from 16 Arab countries participated, marking an increase of 65 universities compared to the first edition. Benha University also ranked 11th among 48 Egyptian universities (public, private, and community) included in this edition, an increase of 20 universities from the previous edition.
Ranking Criteria
Prof. El-Gizawy explained that the ranking is based on four indicators aligned with the vision and needs of Arab countries:
1. Education and Learning
2. Scientific Research
3. Creativity, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation
4. International and Local Cooperation and Community Service
Performance Indicators
Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, noted that Benha University ranked 66th in the Arab world and 19th locally in the Education and Learning indicator.
In the Scientific Research indicator, the university ranked 15th in the Arab world and 7th locally. For the Creativity and Innovation indicator, it ranked 39th in the Arab world and 17th locally. Finally, in the Participation indicator, it ranked 121st in the Arab world and 32nd locally.

It is noteworthy that the total number of universities participating in the ranking was 180, distributed as follows:
• 48 universities from Egypt
• 41 universities from Iraq
• 17 universities from Yemen
• 17 universities from Jordan
• 12 universities from Libya
• 10 universities from Saudi Arabia
• 7 universities from Palestine
• 6 universities from Algeria
• 6 universities from Tunisia
• 5 universities from the United Arab Emirates
• 4 universities from Syria
• 2 universities from Somalia
• 2 universities from Lebanon
• 1 university from Bahrain
• 1 university from Kuwait
• 1 university from Morocco.
