The University Council of Benha held its meeting chaired by Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, attended by Prof. El-Sayed Fouda, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for postgraduate Studies and Research, and council members.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy opened the session by emphasizing that the Council, along with all its members, supports and endorses the positions and actions taken by the Egyptian state and political leadership in support of the Palestinian cause and halting the displacement scheme of Palestinian brothers.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy stated that the university had previously announced its clear and explicit support for the positions declared by Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which categorically reject the displacement of Palestinians and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, and it continues to strongly support the political leadership's firm stance against both forced and voluntary displacement of the Palestinian people.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, on behalf of the university family, congratulated the university leaders and professors who were selected for the committees of higher education sectors in the new term 2025-2028. He also congratulated Prof. Amani Abbas on the trust of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the issuance of a presidential decree renewing her appointment as Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, wishing her continued success in her duties.
The university president thanked the academic and administrative leaders for their disciplined performance and efforts during the first semester exams, ensuring an organized process, and emphasized the importance of promptly announcing the results.
He stressed the necessity of completing all preparations for the start of the second semester and announcing the academic schedules to students through the official websites of the faculties and their social media pages for different academic levels.
Participation and Initiatives
During the session, Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy reviewed the signing of 17 protocols with several companies and industrial institutions aimed at enhancing the skills of students and graduates for the job market and future careers, praising the role of the university's Career Development Center in connecting the university with the community.
He also highlighted the participation of 57 governmental, private, and technological universities in the AI Applications Hackathon and Egypt's Digital Future, which Benha University is organizing in its fourth edition in collaboration with the Innovators and Talents Support Fund next February.
The university council approved the financial and administrative regulations for the Bidaya Company to market Benha University services, targeting the marketing of research outputs and linking them to industry, as well as providing consultancy, design, and management services in the field of technological incubators and startups.
Additionally, the council approved the allocation of 5 scholarships for high school graduates from North Sinai to enroll in distinguished programs at the university in the following specializations:
• Energy and Sustainable Energy Program at the Faculty of Engineering in Shubra.
• Business Information Systems Program at the Faculty of Commerce.
• Network and Mobile Technology Program at the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence.
• Petroleum Geology and Minerals Program at the Faculty of Science.
• Agricultural Biotechnology Program at the Faculty of Agriculture.
