Benha University has announced the teams that have qualified for the final stage of the "Smart Education Hackathon," held at Benha University under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in collaboration with the Innovators and Talents Support Fund (ISF) and the Information Technology Institute (ITI) affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
Key Points:
• Qualified Teams: A total of 35 teams representing 25 governmental, National, and technological universities have qualified.

- New Mansoura University are participating with three teams each, while several universities are represented by two teams, including
- Monofia University,
- Matrouh University,
- Egyptian-Chinese University,
- Damietta University,
- October University for Science and Technology, and
- Zagazig University. One team each is participating from
- Cairo University,
- Delta University for Science and Technology,
- Delta Technology University,
- Misr University for Science and Technology,
- British University,
- Mansoura University,
- Benha National University,
- Port Said University,
- New Cairo Technological University,
- Zewail City of Science and Technology,
- Sinai University,
- Galala University,
- Helwan University,
- Assiut University,
- Kafr El-Sheikh University,
- Egyptian Academy of Engineering and Technology, and
- El Obour Institutes.
• Hackathon Objectives: Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, stated that the Hackathon aims to generate a package of innovative ideas and modern programming projects, utilizing information and communication technology to enhance educational processes and improve learning effectiveness. The Hackathon encompasses various tracks focused on innovative solutions across different areas, including remote education, interactive learning, flexible teaching tools, language learning platforms, gamifying education, learner support systems, and data analytics for education.
• Competition Timeline: Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for postgraduate Studies and Research, noted that the application process opened on November 2 of last year and remained available until January 15 of this year. Benha University announced the participation of 214 teams representing 57 governmental and private universities. After preliminary rounds, 35 teams qualified for the final stage, expected to present their ideas and projects across seven tracks.
• Support for Innovation: Prof. Shady El-Mashad, Executive Director of Information and General Coordinator of the Hackathon, emphasized the university's commitment to hosting the "Smart Education Hackathon" as part of its belief in the role of higher education and scientific research in supporting digital transformation. The initiative aligns with Egypt's Vision 2030 goals for a knowledge-based digital economy, encouraging innovation, research, and development by motivating young programmers and idea generators to present their smart ideas and projects.
• Awards: The final events of the competition will take place from February 9 to 11, during which the winning teams will be announced. Benha University will award cash prizes for the top three teams across seven tracks, totaling 280,000 EGP, with the first-place winner receiving 20,000 EGP, the second-place winner 12,000 EGP, and the third-place winner 8,000 EGP.
