• Several academic and administrative leaders at the university,

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy expressed his happiness at the Mufti's visit to Benha University, praising his role in spreading cultural and religious awareness among youth. He confirmed that organizing the seminar is part of the university's commitment to enhancing community awareness and psychological education to build a healthy family, aiming to achieve sustainable development goals and Egypt's Vision 2030. He emphasized that building correct awareness requires the collective efforts of all institutions, whether religious or educational, to create a generation that understands the importance of family cohesion and its role in facing contemporary challenges.
He also affirmed the collaboration between Benha University and the Dar Al-Ifta in organizing lectures, training programs, and workshops to launch awareness campaigns for university affiliates about the importance of family and facing modern challenges, in addition to holding conferences and scientific seminars addressing social issues.
The President of Benha University praised the leading role of the Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta, which is one of the oldest religious institutions working through the dissemination of enlightened fatwas based on the methodology of Al-Azhar, combating extremist ideas, and protecting society from intellectual and social challenges, thereby enhancing Egypt's leading fatwa role in the Islamic world.
For his part, the Governor of Kalyobiya expressed his pleasure in participating in this seminar to discuss the Egyptian family within the esteemed Benha University, which plays an active role in building the future of our beloved Egypt. He extended his thanks and appreciation to Prof. Nazir Ayad, the Mufti of the Republic, for honoring us today and delivering this valuable lecture on the Egyptian family, the fundamental nucleus upon which society is built, also thanking Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy for hosting the seminar at the university.
In his speech, the Governor of Kalyobiya confirmed that the Egyptian family faces numerous challenges in our current era, requiring all of us to unite efforts to preserve and support it, instilling authentic values and principles in our children's hearts. He expressed confidence that this seminar would significantly contribute to raising awareness among our youth about the importance of family and its role in building a strong and cohesive society.
He added that we place great importance on the Egyptian family and strive to provide all means to support and preserve it. He called on our youth to adhere to public morals, maintain our authentic values and traditions, respect the elderly, and maintain constant communication with family and relatives, affirming that preserving the family is preserving society as a whole, a shared responsibility that falls on all of us.
The Mufti of Egypt affirmed that the family is the protective shield for national identity, comprising religion, language, history, and civilization. He pointed to attempts to diminish the value of national identity, mock religion, language, customs, and traditions, and promote ideas of moral chaos under the guise of freedom. He stressed that Islamic history and civilization have inspired the civilizations of the world, rejecting any attempts to undermine this great heritage.
He warned against manipulating terms to distort ethical concepts, such as absolute freedom that promotes atheism, deviance, and cohabitation under the pretense of human rights. He confirmed that Islam acknowledges custom as a source of legislation, clarifying that customs and traditions are not obstacles to freedom but rather ethical controls that preserve society. He rejected linking religious rulings to extremism, pointing to the importance of referring to specialists in fatwas, as is the case in other fields.
He discussed the dangers of social media in spreading destructive ideas, calling for family supervision and proper guidance for children. He emphasized the necessity of teaching children the importance of self-regulation, citing the verse: "No word does he utter but there is a watcher by him ready." He stressed the role of fasting and worship in enhancing self-regulation, helping children face temptations and intellectual deviations.
The Mufti emphasized the importance of religious, mental, physical, and intellectual development, noting that proper education protects children from intellectual and behavioral deviations. He stressed the need to teach children contentment and tolerance to eliminate feelings of hatred and envy. He referred to the role of sports and mental protection in maintaining mental and physical health.
He affirmed that Islamic law has established regulations to protect society, citing the verse: "And do not throw yourselves into destruction." He stressed the importance of preserving wealth and resources, protecting them from loss and illicit exploitation.
At the end of the seminar, Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, presented a shield of appreciation to the Mufti, who in turn received a shield from Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Kalyobiya, in recognition of his role in serving the community and enhancing religious and intellectual awareness.
