Under the auspices of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, the university's Organization and Administration Department organized training courses on the fundamentals of Cybersecurity for university and college staff, in collaboration with the Center for Developing Computer Systems and Information Technology at the university and the Cisco Networking Academy.
Prof. Shady El-Mashad, Executive Director of Information at the university, indicated that this course comes in line with the directives of the university president regarding the necessity of raising awareness among university employees about the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of their data and privacy, as well as increasing their awareness of the nature of cyber extortion crimes. He added that these courses are conducted in three phases and aim to train them on how to implement methods to protect internet-connected systems—such as devices, software, and data—from cyber threats used by individuals or government institutions to guard against unauthorized access to data centers and other computerized systems. This includes explaining the different types of attacks used by hackers and the vulnerabilities they exploit.
