The Theater Team of Benha University Participates in the 10th Arab Horizons Festival for University Theater in Oman with the Play "The Land's Owners"

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the participation of the Benha University Theater Team in the 10th Arab Horizons Festival for University Theater in Oman, hosted by the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Muscat, with the play "The Land's Owners." A total of 42 theatrical performances were submitted to the festival, but only 5 performances from Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, and Oman were selected.
It is noteworthy that "The Land's Owners" is a national theatrical performance that addresses issues of land, identity, and belonging, shedding light on the struggle of individuals against attempts to seize their land, whether through invasion or exploitation. The performance revolves around characters who express their legitimate rights; they are the ones who cling to their land despite challenges, reflecting the strength of popular will in defending their rights.
Through the use of emotionally charged dramatic scenes, national songs, and expressive movements, the performance offers a theatrical experience that combines historical documentation with human themes, making it an artistic message that reflects the struggles of peoples against attempts at domination and colonization.
Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President of the University, added that the play had previously been performed at El Samer Theater and also at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Theater as part of the current Creativity Festival. The University Theater Team is participating in the Arab Horizons Festival for University Theater in Oman from April 12 to 14, and the play "The Land's Owners" is based on the novel "The Arsonists" by Max Frisch.
The theatrical performance "The Land's Owners" features set design by Mostafa Fekry, lighting by Ahmed Amin, costumes by Hagar Kamal and Badr Essam, photography by Mostafa Alwan, and assistant directors Bola Amir and Abdulaziz Mohamed.
