Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hady: The conference is a distinguished scientific platform for exchanging experiences and discussing research in applied sciences.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, inaugurated the fourth conference for graduate students in the field of applied sciences, organized by the Graduate Studies and Research Sector at Benha University, held from May 7-8.
The event was attended by:
• Prof. El Sayed Fouda, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,
• Prof. Gehan Abdel-Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research,
• Deans
• Vice-deans of faculties,
• University's Secretary-General, and
• Assistant Secretary-General for Community Service and Environmental Development,
• Assistant Secretary-General for Financial Affairs.
The conference featured a lecture by:
• Prof. Hassan Ibrahim Saleh, Professor of Computer Engineering and Head of the National Center for Radiation Research and Technology at the Atomic Energy Authority, on "The Role of Nuclear Energy in Developing Applied Research."
• Prof. Nevin Makram Labib, Vice President of the Egyptian Society for Information Systems and Computer Technology, spoke about "Artificial Intelligence and its Role in Sustainable Development."
• Prof. Chang Chiwa, a professor at Central China Agricultural University and an academic member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, presented on "Developing Super Nutrient Green Rice for a Healthy Anthropocene Era."
• Prof. Hisham Ramzy Tantawy, a professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at MTC, discussed "Electromagnetic Shielding Materials - Latest Technologies."
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized that applied sciences are not merely theoretical knowledge but effective tools that contribute to building civilizations, driving innovation, and achieving sustainable development. He noted that science has never been an end in itself but an investment in knowledge, embodying a profound vision to formulate realistic solutions to the challenges facing our world across various fields, from technology and engineering to medicine, energy, and even artificial intelligence, agricultural sciences, and veterinary sciences.
Prof. El-Gizawy pointed out that investing in knowledge does not only mean research and experimentation but also requires the ability to transform scientific ideas into practical applications that create added value in society and support an innovation-based economy. He added that researchers represent the cornerstone of this transformation and the driving force towards a future characterized by discovery and development.

The vice president indicated that this conference represents a distinguished scientific platform for exchanging experiences and discussing the latest research and trends in applied sciences. It also contributes to enhancing collaboration among researchers from various universities and research institutions, thereby supporting the journey of innovation and development in our beloved country.
Prof. Hisham Rashid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and the conference's rapporteur, stated that the number of research papers participating in this year's conference reached 116 scientific papers covering all the axes included in the conference. He pointed out that all accepted research papers will be published in a special issue of the Benha Journal of Applied Sciences after being peer-reviewed and checked for plagiarism.
