The Human Rights Unit at the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector of Benha University organized a seminar at the Faculty of Education titled "Awareness of Human Rights from a Legal and Health Perspective" as part of the state's efforts in this field.
This event was held under the auspices of:
• Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University,
• Prof. El Sayed Fouda, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,
• Prof. Magdy El-Shahat, Dean of the Faculty of Education
• Prof. Mahmoud Abdel-Ghani Farid, Professor and Head of the Criminal Law Department at the Faculty of Law, at Benha University, and Director of the University's Human Rights Center.
Prof. Mona Salem Zaza, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that Prof. Mahmoud Ammar, lecturer in the International Public Law Department at the Faculty of Law, presented at the seminar, which was coordinated with Mrs. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The seminar covered several topics, including awareness of the basic principles of human rights in the new Egyptian constitution and international charters, an applied aspect concerning the right to health in international charters, and the efforts of the World Health Organization in this regard, as well as the right to health and the efforts made by the Egyptian state to support it, along with addressing some misconceptions about the right to health.
