Benha University Faculty of Science Organized Its Annual Conference Titled "Sustainable Development towards Academic Excellence in Sciences"

Under the auspices of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, the Faculty of Science organized its annual conference titled "Sustainable Development towards Academic Excellence in Sciences."
This event was attended by Prof. Mohamed Heikal, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Ali Abdel-Maboud, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Nahid El-Barqi, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Prof. Mohamed Abou Riya, Vice Dean for Education and Students, the heads of scientific departments, and a number of professors, researchers, and students.
Prof. Mohamed Heikal indicated that the conference is part of the Faculty of Science's commitment to supporting the scientific research journey, linking academic outputs to sustainable development goals, and enhancing the faculty's position at local, regional, and international levels to solve industrial problems and the necessity of its connection to the state's 2030 sustainable development plan.
He added that the conference highlighted the faculty's vision for achieving academic excellence and scientific research in sustainable development issues, recognizing that university institutions are no longer just places for education but have become engines for development, centers of creativity and innovation, and key partners in building communities.
Prof. Mohamed Heikal emphasized the importance of concerted efforts, integration, and cooperation among all sectors of the faculty to support the scientific research journey, link academic outputs to sustainable development goals, and enhance the faculty's position locally, regionally, and internationally. This aims to strengthen the faculty's international standing through the development of the scientific research system, international publication, and linking research to community services.
The Dean of the Faculty stated that the Faculty of Science has taken serious steps to enhance its academic reputation by developing study programs, stimulating scientific research, increasing international publication, participating in global rankings, and building academic and research partnerships with prestigious institutions to achieve quality and institutional excellence.
It is noted that the conference included presentations on the educational process, student services, scientific research, the faculty's research plan, environmental and community service, special units, and their services to the faculty and the surrounding region, as well as a discussion on developing institutional quality.
The conference featured several lectures, including one by Prof. Mahmoud Moussa, former Dean of the Faculty, titled "How to Benefit from Student Projects and Produce Marketable Models through 'Bedaya Company'," Prof. Islam Shehata, titled "How to Benefit from Faculty Members in the Field of Consulting and Training," and Prof. Radwan Radwan Abou Al-Abbas, titled "Chemical Management in the Faculty of Science: Towards a Smart Database for Inventory and Consumption."
