Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the results of the QS World University Rankings for 2026, revealing that the university ranked +1401 among 8,467 universities from 106 countries evaluated, sharing the 8th category with other universities, among 20 listed Egyptian public and private universities.
Prof. El-Gizawy pointed out that the university's improved ranking in global classifications is part of its policy to enhance its research outputs and build the scientific and research capabilities of young researchers. Benha University has made significant and serious strides toward quality and excellence to secure a prominent position in global rankings by focusing on scientific research, which is one of the fundamental pillars of universities and their development.
Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for postgraduate Studies and Research, clarified that the British QS ranking relies on several criteria, including academic reputation, the ratio of faculty members to students, the number of international faculty members, the proportion of international students, the percentage of faculty members holding a PhD, the ratio of published research to faculty members, and the citation rate of faculty research, as well as the university's impact on the internet.
The importance of this ranking is also evident in evaluating programs and graduates, as the evaluation criteria serve as practical and scientific indicators for assessing universities and recognizing their programs and degrees, which are continuously reviewed to develop higher education plans and policies.
