During the Awards Ceremony for Egyptian Universities Listed in the QS Ranking: Minister of Higher Education Honored the President of Benha University

Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, honored Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, during the awards ceremony for Egyptian universities listed in the QS Ranking for 2025. The event was attended by Prof. Ashwin Fernandez, the regional director for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia in the QS Ranking, along with several presidents of public, private, and technological universities, as well as representatives from foreign university branches and ministry leaders.
Prof. Ayman Ashour highlighted the prominent role of universities as beacons of academic and research excellence. He noted that in 2025, 20 universities were included in the QS World University Ranking, compared to only five institutions in 2017. He also pointed out that Egyptian universities ranked among the top in the QS ranking for the Arab region, with 36 universities represented in the 2025 edition, while the number of Egyptian universities in the QS Sustainability Ranking reached 26.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy expressed his happiness at receiving this honor, confirming that Benha University is steadily progressing towards achieving a prominent position among Egyptian universities. He emphasized the university's efforts to keep pace with global trends in line with the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, as well as the university's strategic plan to develop scientific research and enhance its role as an influential entity in society.
Prof. El-Gizawy added that the improvement in the university's ranking in global classifications is part of the university's policy to enhance its research outputs and build the scientific and research capabilities of young researchers. He stated that Benha University has made significant and serious strides towards quality and excellence to achieve advanced positions in global rankings, focusing on scientific research, which is one of the fundamental pillars of university operations and development.
