Engineer Ayman Atya, Governor of Kalyobiya, and Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, attended the university's celebration of the twelfth anniversary of the June 30 Revolution, organized in collaboration with the Youth Political Parties Coordination. The event was also attended by MP Amira El-Adly, a representative and spokesperson for the coordination, along with several members of the coordination.
The discussion session featured Brigadier Prof. Tarek Al-Akkari, an expert in strategic affairs and military economy, Prof. Ali Shams, former President of Benha University, MP Said Abdel-Aal, head of the Tagammu Party (Rescue Front), MP Mohamed Abdel-Aziz, deputy head of the Human Rights Committee in the House of Representatives and one of the founders of the Tamarod movement, and journalist Islam Afifi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Akhbar Al-Youm.
The event was attended by Prof. El-Sayed Fouda, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Iman Rayan, Deputy Governor of Kalyobiya, deans and vice deans of the faculties, the military advisor to the Governorate of Kalyobiya, Prof. Khaled Eissawy, General Coordinator of Student Activities at the university, Ms. Sherine Shawky, Secretary General of the university, Mr. Refaat Nan, Assistant Secretary of the university for administrative affairs, Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary for Community Service and Environmental Development, Mr. Mohamed Diab, Assistant Secretary for financial affairs, Prof. Mohamed Fawzy, Assistant to the Governor for Investment, Major General Tarek Maher, Assistant Secretary for the Governor, members of the House of Representatives and Senate, and university students.
Engineer Ayman Atya emphasized in his speech the historical significance of this revolution in the nation's journey, pointing out that it was a decisive turning point that brought Egypt back on the right path toward stability and development. He noted that Egypt, thanks to its wise political leadership and its authentic people, is always a safe haven for all surrounding countries.
The governor praised the national role played by the armed forces and the great Egyptian people in protecting the identity and destiny of the state. He commended the organization of this celebration, which reflects the community's awareness of the importance of preserving national gains, asserting that the June 30 Revolution is not just a revolution, but a national epic where the Egyptian army stood alongside the people.
Atya explained that one of the outcomes of this revolution is the establishment of the New Administrative Capital, calling on youth and university students to visit it and take pride in it as a symbol of the nation's achievements. He also urged all parties, including political parties and youth, to continue working hard and collaboratively to achieve the state's developmental goals, emphasizing that preserving the gains of the revolution requires collective efforts and teamwork for the advancement and progress of Egypt.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy stated that on the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution, we recall the spirit of the great Egyptian people who took to the streets in millions to reclaim their identity and shape their destiny through their free will, saying it was a pivotal moment in the nation's history, where citizens expressed their deep awareness of the nature of the homeland and protected the state from slipping into paths unacceptable to the Egyptian conscience.
The university president added, "On the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution, we honor the courage of those who confronted challenges, and we remember that the strength of this people lies in their unity and solidarity during difficult times, noting that the June 30 Revolution will remain a symbol of national determination and a station affirming that Egypt is always capable of renewal and moving toward a better future."
He further stated that the June 30 Revolution has left a profound imprint on Egypt's present and its path toward the future, contributing to the restoration of political and institutional stability, and creating a favorable environment for economic and developmental reforms, the fruits of which we are witnessing today in infrastructure, education, and health sectors. It has also stimulated a spirit of citizenship and belonging, affirming that the strength of the state stems from the conscious will of its citizens.
Prof. El-Gizawy extended his respect and appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who played a pivotal role in translating the demands of the revolution into clear executive steps, relying on the support of state institutions, foremost among them the armed forces and police, which had a decisive role in protecting the will of the people and maintaining the security of the country during critical moments. This harmony has continued to play its role in achieving stability and enhancing the state's prestige, reflecting the strong relationship between the people and their national institutions.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized the prominent and pivotal role of university youth in the June 30 Revolution, as they represented the pulse of the street and the voice of awareness that mobilized the masses to demand change. They emerged carrying the aspirations of an entire generation longing for a democratic homeland that achieves justice and dignity, and they significantly contributed to organizing events, documenting occurrences, and conveying the true image to the world. This youth movement represented the fuel of the revolution, reflecting their awareness of their national responsibility, solidifying their position as an active element in shaping the future and building the state they dream of.
Amira El-Adly, representative and spokesperson for the coordination, stated that the June 30 Revolution was not just a moment of protest or political change, but a true starting point for building a modern civil state that values participation and opens the door for new generations to be part of the decision-making process.
El-Adly added that the June 30 Revolution was a pivotal moment when millions of Egyptians rejected polarization and marginalization, demanding a state that represents everyone, a state based on law and constitution, and that opens the door for all Egyptians to participate in its construction. Youth were at the heart of this revolution and will remain at the center of the national project. In the Youth Political Parties Coordination, we believe that conscious participation, diverse perspectives, and collaborative work are essential tools for protecting the homeland and achieving its aspirations.
The MP affirmed that the June 30 Revolution is not just a past event, but an ongoing responsibility that we all share—youth, students, and institutions—to complete the path of building and to always align ourselves with the national state, working diligently to face challenges.
the celebration included a discussion session addressing youth awareness of the projects and developments undertaken by the Egyptian state across various sectors and the internal and external challenges the state faces, as well as how the state is addressing these challenges.
A discussion panel with students was also held, where their inquiries were addressed.
