Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, emphasized the university's commitment to continuously enhancing the skills of its staff and faculty by involving them in various important training courses aimed at improving institutional performance, particularly in the field of information technology, as part of the university's transformation into a smart university.
This was stated during the honoring of participants in the training courses on Cybersecurity fundamentals, which were organized by the General Administration for Organization and Management at the university in collaboration with the Center for Computer Systems and Information Technology and the Cisco Networking Academy.
The event was attended by:
• Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research,
• Mrs. Sherin Shawky, Secretary General of the University,
• Prof. Shady Y. El-Mashad, Executive Director of Information at the university,
• Mrs. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Prof. El-Gizawy pointed out that conducting training courses specifically on cybersecurity is part of raising awareness among university employees about the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of their data and privacy, as well as increasing their awareness of the nature of cyber extortion crimes.
For her part, Ms. Sherin Shawky, Secretary General of the University, presented certificates of completion for the cybersecurity courses to the administrative staff, affirming the continuation of organizing training courses in various fields and specialties to enhance the skills of the university's administrative staff.
Prof. Shady Y. El-Mashad added that these courses were conducted in three phases and aimed to train participants on how to protect internet-connected systems, such as devices, software, and data, from cyber threats used by individuals or government institutions to prevent unauthorized access to data centers and other computerized systems by explaining the different types of attacks employed by hackers and the vulnerabilities they exploit.

• administrative coordination by Mrs. Naglaa Hussein.
